Great faffordable swiss made Automatic timepiece!, June 1, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Tissot Men's T0444302603100 T-Sport PRS 516 Silver Day Date Dial Watch (Watch) I have been wearing an Omega Seamaster quartz for the past 15 years and wanted something new with an automatic movement. I looked at other Omegas, Hamiltons, and Breitling and although tempting, the high price point made me shy away. Then I stumbled across Tissot brands, tried some on at local dealers, and came here on Amazon and found the PRS 516 Automatic. It's been a week worn daily and let me tell you it's a great timepiece! I didn't know what to expect at first going from a 36mm to this 43mm bezel but I love the sturdy larger presence. The silver dial with black outer bezel is very unique and gorgeously shows off the automatic movement with red T (for Tissot) sweeping second hand. When the watch is parked, it shows off the see thru glass bezel on the back which most watches at this price won't feature. The leather deployment buckle clasp is also nice and easy to use. I also love the fact it featues both day and date. You cannot go wrong with the Tissot PRS 516 Automatic!

Regarding the precision of this timepiece, here's what Tissot says at its FAQ page: "The accuracy of the watch depends on the movement and on the individual habits of the wearer and can therefore vary. A qualified TISSOT watchmaker can adjust the precision of a watch to within the TISSOT tolerances. The majority of watches that do not have a chronometer certificate have average precision tolerances of between -10/+30 seconds per day. To earn the title of chronometer, the mechanical movement's average daily variation in rate must be between -4/+6 seconds per day." - so this watch may be off from -10 to +30 seconds per day. I'll contact Amazon to see if they can tune up my watch that runs at +20 seconds that is within technical specification. Otherwise,... Read more

It is bigger and more beautifull than I supposed. May be due to its white and clear background. Some details make the difference: the red T in the second-hand, the visor to see the mechanism working (in the back of the watch), the antireflective-sapphire window dial and the sportive band (calfskin with a stell close system). As an automatic watch (self widding)it stops if you do not use it, but this is part of the charm of this watch that has the classical swiss art and technology of mechanical movement. It may not be as precise as a quartz (may be one minute per month bias), but you never have to change batteries! And a legitime swiss automatic Tissot bellow $400 is a good buying.
